Church of St Bernardine - 'Cerkev sv. Bernardina'. The remains of the former monastery comprise a well-preserved and eminent bell tower, the church presbytery and the retaining wall complete with arches. The monastery and the church date back to the 15th century and are dedicated to St Bernardine of Siena. Activities in the monastery ended in the 19th century and the Austrian military later used the complex as a stronghold, from which soldiers defended the bay. Pollena Trocchia is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Naples in the Italian region Campania, located about 11 km east of Naples. Pollena took its name from the cult of Apollo, who had an important temple here in the Roman and pre-Roman ages. Both were destroyed by the 1631 eruption of Vesuvio. The staircase was separated into three areas with corridors, which were in turn divided into five sectors, and was based on a passage with a barrel vault. Tartini Monument - Giuseppe Tartini L`Istria. In 1892, upon the 200th anniversary of the birth of the composer, the people of Piran wanted to erect a monument to honour his memory, but due to the works being protracted, Piran had to wait until 1896 for the larger-than-life bronze statue of the virtuoso to finally be mounted on a high pedestal. The most important rooms were those on the eastern side whereas the rooms upstairs may have been the apartments of the undertaker of the gladiators.
